I saw a recent stat that gave me the jitters (that’s a medical term, in case you’re not familiar):
Roughly 54% of LinkedIn user posts were generated by an AI tool that creates and publishes automated updates.
This coincides with growing criticism that LinkedIn is increasingly swamped with content that amounts to milk toast platitudes masquerading as “business insights.”
No doubt you’ve seen LinkedIn posts with an introduction, a series of bullet points, and a poignant conclusion.
Some are meaningful, others are not.
AI can do many things well, analysis and research being notable specialties.
What AI cannot do well is impersonate you.
But if you’re relinquishing the task of creating and posting regular updates on your LinkedIn and other social platforms to AI automation apps, that’s precisely what you’re tasking AI to do.
Saying the same thing as everyone else, using the same format, chasing likes, and superficial engagement may land you in your followers’ feeds more often.
But how long until they tire of the same bland updates?
Meanwhile, if you need help crafting meaningful marketing messages, let’s chat!
